The Saga of Reaching New Heights

A company is a lot more than work and business-related jargon. Over the years, the employees working together, starting from the security guard protecting the door with all responsibility to the Owners, keeping an eye at every nook and corner, without even realising, become a big family. They become part of each other’s success & failures. As a sense of responsibility, faithfulness upon each other grows, the company also grows surrounded by all sorts of bittersweet memories.

While celebrating their 51st year, the MGM grew another year wiser while looking forward to an even brighter 52nd year. Although technically the foundation day of MGM is July 1, all the company members gathered together on July 9, 2021, along with PE for a celebration.

No matter how much the company grows, it never forgets its roots. Over the years, they have never failed to re-establish this fact as and when needed. The

much-awaited foundation day celebration spoke no different language either. The program started with the national anthem. Shri Rajesh Mandlik, Managing Director and Chief Strategist of Setco Spindles Pvt.Ltd addressed the crowd as the Chief Guest of the celebration. His thought-provoking speech left everyone’s mouth agape as he described the 51 years-long journeys of MGM in his own graceful words. Every company has its share of good and bad days. The achievements and success provide the willpower to the company and its employees to move ahead regardless of hurdles and complications that may come along. He also lauded the entire team of the MGM-PE group for their relentless hard work behind the company’s growth.

Every company starts with a vision. It starts with a person who dares to dream and work towards it. In 1970, MGM-PE was also started with a vision by Shri D. G. Mudholkar and Shri Mandlik in his speech acknowledged and complimented the founder’s vision, which has stood the test of time.

He also reiterated the importance of Teamwork and Work Culture in his excellent and thoughtful speech. Culturally rich companies don’t need to work separately on team building as it is part of routine activities. Probably team building tools and techniques differ from one company to the other. However, resultants are more or less the same. In a great team, ego is far away while extending a helping hand, and no one is shy while seeking help. One can express his thoughts without fear. Agreement to disagreement, physical space, and enough opportunities to experiment are few more pointers of a good team. A company is not about the four walls that create it. It’s about the people inside it that goes through thick and thin, and over the years, become an indispensable part of the company. The teamwork shows on every venture. However, it can never be fruitful unless the work culture of the company is good. MGM-PE stands out even in this matter, and Chief guest Mr Mandlik mentioned this with utter pride in his speech. He recognised the commendable work that the team has been doing, alongside he also praised their authority for keeping up the standards of a great office culture, which in today’s world is sadly a rare sight.

Shri Yatin Tambe, MD of Friction Welding Technology, an exemplary entrepreneur, also graced this foundation day occasion.

As the celebrations were just about to take an ecstatic turn, everyone gathered together to take a moment, cut a cake and share a moment of happiness with

everyone is present in the room. The sense of celebration was not in cutting the cake, but it was in those moments when the entire team came under one roof, gave a pat on each other’s back and told them how significant their contribution is to the growth and success of the organisation.

Keeping the unfortunate circumstances of Covid-19 and the restrictions in view, the celebration was low key, but that did not mar the enthusiasm of the hard-working employees. They gracefully carried through the entire celebration. Often people pursue the industrialist to be boring with no sense of artistic view. This, indeed, is not the case for the employees of the MGM-PE . Regardless of the unfortunate pandemic, they tried their best to light up the occasions with their brilliant performances. The multi-talented employees took centre stage as the cultural programmes began. The atmosphere turned electric with the array of team performances and enthralled everyone with their dazzling singing, dancing and drama acts.

Slowly the celebration came to an end. Although the curtains were drawn, every moment of this special day got imprinted on everyone’s heart present there. There is a happy ending, but there is always a day after the happy ending. Beholding more bright visions for the future, everyone took the oath of working with more dedication.

The foundation day celebration brought a sense of achievement, teamwork, and commitment, several notches up in everyone’s heart. As the day ended, everyone kept a vow to keep working towards the company’s growth regardless of the innumerable hurdles that will come along.

The saga of success is never without a few mishaps. The growth is measured through the capability of a company to raise the bar and reach new heights irrespective of all the complications. MGM-PE knows it better, and in its 52nd year, it is all set to reach new heights more than ever.

I tried my best to express my thoughts. While business is all about give and take of all tangible items, culture is all about exchange of intangible aspects like emotions and relationships. Culture building is endless job and probably every day businesses work to be culturally better than yesterday.

Culturally rich companies don’t need to work separately on team building as it is part of routine activities. Probably team building tools and techniques differ from one company to the other. However, resultants are more or less the same.

In great team, ego is far away while extending helping hand and no one shy while seeking help. One can express his thoughts without fear. Agreement to disagreement, not only physical space but enough opportunities are given to experiment are few more pointers of good team.
