Essar Oil (UK) Limited, which owns and operates the Stanlow Refineryhas seen its successful entry into the UK retail sector recognised at the industry leading Forecourt Trader Awards event, with the company winning the award for the Best Oil Company Initiative during the past year.
Essar won the award for its theme – A fresh approach to fuel retailing. The Oil Company Initiative Award acknowledges initiatives undertaken by oil companies in the last twelve months to enhance their petrol retailing operations. This can relate to any aspect of the business on both company owned and dealer sites – from the forecourt and shop to Head Office.
Oil companies were required to send in their entries, with the award judged by a jury both on the merit of the theme and their visits to stations.
This was Forecourt Trader magazine’s 20th birthday. The event had a record breaking attendance of over 750 guests and there was a serious buzz surrounding the whole evening engaging with the Best of British theme. The judging process is independent, rigorous and involves travelling many hundreds of miles across the country experiencing forecourt service first hand to deliver real integrity.
Essar entered the UK retail market with the opening of its first branded forecourt in November 2015 and currently has 15 sites operating under the Essarbrand. The company has confirmed ambitious plans to grow its retail network within the UK market to 400 sites over the next three years.
