“FerroClad Onsite cladding hard facing puts mill efficiency back to its optimum level and more over it can be repeated number of times.”
FerroClad Specializes in In-situ hard facing of vertical mill components (Grinding Rolls and Table Liners). It is important to understand overall life cycle of grinding castings, grinding components roll in achieving mill efficiency and productivity. As the grinding components losses its profile a mill suffers in two ways. First reduction in production per day capacity due to irregular contact surface and secondly increased power consumption due to increased pressure on rolls to achieve desired production. Surfacing of grinding rolls and table using sophisticated automation equipments and welding procedures adopted by FerroClad ensures restoration of profile to the nearest possible level.
Stage 1:
Start up after installation, this is known as the “Bedding In” period, new components run, and over a period of time settle into smooth efficient operation. The mill throughput increases from an initial value towards a nominal value. In many circumstances the bedding-in period is very subtle or not visible at all.
Stage 2:
The “Cruise” period, in which the mill throughput remains fairly constant up to a given stage of wear. This is when the mill is running as its optimum efficiency.
Stage 3:
Progressive decrease in mill throughput up to the end of the grinding components life. The red shaded area corresponds to the loss in production associated to the decreasing milling efficiency.
The graph shown describes a model for Vertical Mill grinding components life (the figures given are hypothetical) On the Y-Axis the measurement is throughput of raw material measured in Tons per hour. On the X-Axis we have the operational lifetime of the grinding components measured in operational hours. The graph is broken up into
3 defined areas (3 stages of life);
Below chart shows the difference achieved in wear rate (Gm/ MT). Before and after hard facing using FerroClad High Carbon -HCO and High Carbon CNO. The data is collected after plant resumed hard facing.
