Q. As you are participating in Automation 2014 exhibition, what are your expectations from AUTOMATION 2014 ?
We expect from AUTOMATION 2014 and trust the management to do the groundwork and create awareness, and bring the quality and relevant visitors in this period. They can also focus on making different forums to increase awareness on industry 4.0 to the indian market with support from different industry segment to find possibility to adapt the technology and automate their process.

Q. EPLAN being the key player in electrical & engineering software space, Please brief us about recent initiatives undertaken in automation space? Which are your focus areas?
EPLAN has recently come up with combination of EEC One & Pro Panel module. EEC One enables the automatic generation of electrical or fluid power schematics based on standardized macros and components. EPLAN is now expanding this technology t also include control cabinet engineering. Mounting panel layouts will soon be automatically generated. Standardization and automation produce significant gains in efficiency. At the same time the degree of re utilization increases substantially. In AUTOMATION 2014, we will be demonstrating the glimpse of it in India for the first time. The same is already available from September 2014 with newly launched EPLAN Platform 2.4 version.

Q. Which are products that will be displayed in Automation 2014 exhibition?
Being a Engineering software & service provider, we will be demonstrating the complete range of solutions in AUTOMATION 2014. Our technical / product managers are going to be present full time to demonstrate the new innovations and features added with platform 2.4. Apart from that Harness pro D, Preplanning module, EEC One with Pro Panel module are few new products in our basket which will be highlighted in this major platform .

Q. What are the market opportunities for EPLAN products in India? How do you plan to position these products?
Industry segments like Process, Factory Automation, Automotive, panel building, Machine building are the important ones for EPLAN from the beginning. Now we do offer solutions to sectors like Food & Beverage, Power & Energy, and Automotive industry with deeper strength with products like P & ID, Harness pro D, Electric P8 & Pro Panel. Hence considering this, India is a emerging market for EPLAN and we also would like to increase our presence with our professional services offering.

Q. What is your vision for your company?
Our goal is to provide world’s leading solution provider for engineering solutions, combined with positioning in the premium segment of process consultancy in engineering. EPLAN represents the product of highest quality, maximized efficiency, and professional advice in compliance with global standards. Safeguarding accomplishments of our customers – and therefore our own success- is the guiding principle of our extensive development programme. To this end we are continuously looking to expand into international markets and acquire new industries with the aim of maximizing the benefits of our customers.

Q. What is the bigger challenge in India Today- the unavailability of automation technologies or its implementation? In what way can EPLAN – Rittal India Ltd change India’s inertia?
Implementation is one major bottle neck and which has turned into a challenge today. Companies should be motivated and keep themselves updated with the advanced technology by implanting it in their engineering process. Apart from that, continuous investment is essential to improve skills through knowledge building, training and services. This in turn can improve the implementation stage in Indian market to achieve the requirement and stay ahead.

Q. What is your advise to the Indian SMEs to achieve global competitiveness?
We would suggest the SMEs of India, to use the right and best tool for their engineering and design process. The same should be treated as an investment but not as an expense while procuring the solutions/ equipments. We should look into the Return of investment and accuracy and faster to market and productivity, quality instead of looking at the cost effective or choosing a solution only on basis of price.

Q. This year EPLAN celebrates its 30th EPLAN anniversary. What is the message on this milestone to your customers?

Q. Recently, EPLAN , in close collaboration with Cideon Software GmbH, Brief us about it ??
Here the objective is to provide a solution for the complete Industry, we call this concept as “Next Level of Industry” with this we offer solutions with combination of EPLAN+Cideon+Rittal+Kiesling. Tools for computer-aided planning and design (CAD) have become ubiquitous in industrial development and design departments. The expertise of EPLAN, Cideon will now significantly streamline the process of product designing as it combines electronic CAD (E-CAD) and mechanical CAD (M-CAD). Another aspect to be taken into account is to ensure connectability to super ordinate software systems. Both Cideon’s and EPLAN’s systems boast a number of technical interfaces to link up with SAP and market-leading Product Lifecycle Managment Systems (PLMs).

The fact that we, together with EPLAN and Cideon, not only offer process consulting and implementation alongside market-leading software technologies for E-CAD, M-CAD and PLM means we can now provide end-to-end service in these areas. This is unique in the market. We strongly believe the international position of Rittal and EPLAN will definitely helps us to market Cideon products and solutions much more effectively on the up-and-coming markets, especially in Asia.

Q. What are the future opportunities, that EPLAN – Rittal India Ltd Foreses in India and what are its goals?
Our main focus is to become a market leader as a single supplier to offer complete automated solution Electrical Engineering, design and control panel manufacturing solution including automated mounting, wiring etc. Hence the road map is to brand Industry 4.0 and “Next level of Industry concept” to achieve our goal together.
