High Accurary, thermally stable galvo scanner for precision laser processing

Aerotech (www.aerotech.com) has introduced a high accuracy, open frame, thermally stable galvo scanner for a wide range of laser machining and etching applications. The new Nmark AGV-HPO scanner attains single-digit, micron-level accuracy over the field of view. It offers industry-leading resolution of >24 bits when used with Aerotech’s Nmark CLS controller, the company reports.

The AGV-HPO position transducers have extremely low thermal gain drift performance. This ensures consistent micron-level feature placement accuracy in complex, high-density laser machining applications that take long periods of time to complete. Likewise, high throughput applications will maintain consistent part-to-part quality without having to re-calibrate between parts.

The scanner’s multiple input apertures and mirror coatings support a variety of laser wavelengths. Its open-frame design reduces cost and allows for more flexible laser beam delivery. The AGV-HPO is available with right-side and left-side input apertures for “mirror image” machine builds or side-by-side scanner mounting with a single laser beam split to source both scanners.

Aerotech is a leading global supplier of positioning and motion control products for industry, government, science and research institutions. Its products provide critical performance for demanding applications requiring high precision, high-throughput motion control solutions.

Applications include:

  • Laser Processing
  • Electronics Manufacturing
  • Printed Circuit Boards
