ISEE 2022 to give a new fillip to the Elevator IndustryCome Dec. 1, Mumbai will witness the first ever Industry Show on ‘Elevators & Escalators’. This 3-day mega event will occupy Hall-I entirely, with a display area of 2 lakh sq ft, and give opportunity to 140 plus participants to showcase their innovative products and technologies in the domain of elevators, escalators and components. This would comprise participants from seven countries including Italy, Germany, UK, Turkey, USA, Switzerland and Japan; though the objective of the Show is to encourage Indian manufacturers and to project India as an international sourcing hub for equipment and components related to the elevator industry.

The Indian elevator industry, which is currently of the size of INR 13,500 crore, is slated to achieve a turnover of INR 15,000 by 2024. The country has some 5,000 manufacturers and the industry is growing at a CAGR of 8%. The industry is slated to generate considerable direct and indirect employment opportunities across tier 1, 2 and 3 cities, and also strengthen the existing industry ecosystem. The industry is also expected to attract FDI on a large scale in the coming years. The International Sourcing Exposition for Elevators & Escalators (ISEE) has been conceptualized to bring together OEMs and components manufacturers to come together and showcase India as a sourcing hub. India has the engineering prowess and manufacturing capability to compete on an international scale.

India is the 2nd largest market globally for elevators and escalators. India’s real estate is booming with private developers changing the landscape of our urban and semi-urban habitat. Elevators form an integral part of this rapid growth.

ISEE promises to be a great networking platform. It is reportedly the only definitive exposition which synergistically brings together OEMs and components manufacturers. The participants would comprise Indian companies MSMEs and MNCs to create an industry led event.

Commenting on the scale of the exhibition, TAK Mathews, Principal Consultant of TAK Consulting and the organizer of ISEE says: “Over 140 players from the Elevator Industry are participating in this exhibition which presents an opportunity to witness the latest technology in elevators and escalators. The event will prove to be a platform for industry players to share best practices as well as to showcase India as a sourcing hub for elevators and escalators. Encouraging response from the exhibitors have compelled us to increase the expo area to 2 lakh sq ft so that a wide range of exhibitors could be accommodated”.

ISEE is being launched with the objective of ensuring a show that is an industry event which is by the industry, of the industry and for the industry. The show has received support from various trade associations such as the Council of Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat (CTBUH India), the International Association of Elevator Consultants (IAEC), Fire and Safety Association of India (FSAI), and the Elevator & Escalator Component Manufacturers’ Association of India (EECMAI). Lift Institute Solutions is the education partner at ISEE which is also supported by TAK Consulting Pvt. Ltd. and the Elevator and Escalator and Escalator Safety Trust.
