Q. What’s your product portfolio?
The technology leader’s high-tech product range includes a number of different sensors for the field of automation technology. Among these are switching and measuring sensors, identification systems, and data transmission and image processing solutions. As a Safety Expert, Leuze is also focused on components, services and solutions for safety at work.
Q. What are the key design features of your products?
For us, innovation means designing technology in such a way that our customers derive a concrete benefit in relation to their specific application. This, coupled with our in-depth application know-how in our focus industries – that is our strength. From this follows for us how we have to build a sensor in terms of its performance, design and operation. Always with the claim of the highest possible user-friendliness and integration capability. In the last 10 years alone, we have registered well over 250 patents.
Q. What are the unique advantages of your products?
We develop the mentioned innovations in a goal-oriented manner and always for the benefit of our customers and their specific. In this way, we often set new technological standards that differentiate us in the market and, in some cases, push the limits of what is possible.
Q. What’s the common thread in infusing quality in all your products?
We develop and build sensors only as it fits with the needs of our customers. From their need follows for us how we have to build a sensor in terms of its performance, design and operation. Always with the claim of the highest possible user-friendliness and integration capability.
Q. Is maintenance crucial in your kind of products?
Above all, our focus is on ease of use, high connectivity and integrability into various systems.
Q. What’s your single most contribution towards enhancing automation & productivity in the industry?
Leuze is actively shaping change in industry together with its customers. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow. The Sensor People live the vision of the Smart Factory and have always been at the forefront when it comes to topics such as the standardization of industrial communication. For example, Leuze was a founding member of the IO Link consortium. Or even much earlier in the AS-Interface consortium. First paying sensor manufacturer in the OPC Foundation. Working together with Microsoft and other big players. In this way, we have repeatedly created new standards in the market and will continue to do so.
Q. Who are your major customers.
Leuze concentrates on its core industries, in which the Sensor People have extensive, specific application know-how and many years of experience. These include intralogistics and the Packaging Industry, Textile Industry, Intralogistics, Machine Tools, the Automotive Industry as well as Laboratory Automation. These are the industries in which we have many well-known international customers.
Q. What are your growth plans?
We will double our sales again by 2025. And we will also become even more international. Last year, we opened our new international distribution center near our headquarters, Germany. We are currently building a new manufacturing site in Melaka, Malaysia. This will be opened in early 2022.
Q. And are your future thrusts to make the most of the opportunities brought by a burgeoning
Leuze is focused on the future. Full of courage and confidence. We have ambitious growth plans and are striving for market leadership in specific applications in our focus industries – worldwide.
