Q. Please brief us about company’s Indian & global infrastructure?
Founded in 1922, SOCOMEC is a France based independent industrial group with a workforce of 3200 people, 9 production sites and with more than 25 subsidiaries around the world. SOCOMEC India head quartered in Chennai has a workforce of more than 300 employees with 1 production site at Gurgaon and with more than 16 offices across India.

Q. Please also highlight the latest initiatives in your industry domain?
From technology point of view, there are many changes in the Market interest. The market demands UPS system with high efficiency to reduce the operating cost and to be a part of green revolution, also the power density of the UPS systems are being increased with unity Power Factor design(KVA=KW) as recent developments.

Q. What are the market opportunities for your company’s products in India?
SOCOMEC offers fail- safe UPS solutions using the most advanced expertise and cutting-edge technologies.
Thanks to the company’s wide range of continuously evolving products, solutions and services. Our UPS solutions starting from 600VA to 900KVA catering to all the market segments like SOHO, SMB, Mission Critical IT, data centre, Manufacturing and process Industries, Infrastructure, Healthcare etc. The key opportunity in India we see the market now is that customers are looking for full power solutions with high quality efficient product and after-sales service that many other brands fail to deliver.

Q. What is future prospect for your industry?
India is a power deficient market and it has huge business potential especially in the Tier II and Tier III cities and towns. There are robust change in the demand from those areas from both consumers and enterprises. Also we are seeing a positive growth of our sales in industry, BFSI & hospitals segments, Indian UPS market are dominated mainly by IT, ITES & Data center business but in recent years we are seeing positive growth in the industry like Pharma, BFSI & Healthcare segments.

Q. Is there any plans for expansion & new investment in terms of product development or new technology adoption to cater the demand of the industry?
Socomec invested €3.75 million in India so far and has set ambitious growth plans for upcoming years. It has a strategy to target markets such as industry, building, critical building, infrastructure, renewable energy and OEM.
With the industry segment being a prime focus, we have taken an initial step towards the goal, and started producing its existing UPS product Delphys MP Elite, which is well-known for industrial applications in its 5200 square meter plant in Gurgaon. We will also look at the possibilities to extend for other products in coming years.

Q. What is the top line product range & Is there any plans to launch new products?
Socomec has many technologically advanced UPS products ranging from 600 VA to 5400 kVA. We have ultra-high efficiency UPS systems and provide maximum power availability up to 4 MW. Socomec has dedicated R & D team, who is continuously working on to understand the market requirement in terms of technically advanced products and propose solutions. We have plans to introduce new products during this year and it will be communicated at the time of launching.

Q. What is your vision for your company?
Socomec is well known and one of the fast growing companies in India. We enjoy very good market share in Higher end UPS. Over all our market share is around 5% and we expect to increase to 10% in next couple of years. We have a strategy to target markets such as industry, building, critical building, infrastructure, renewable energy and OEM, through which we plan to generate Rs. 400 crore revenue by Y2016. As we want to increase our industrial market share, we believe Delphys MP elite is an apt product to produce locally which will have cost benefit to our customers. This product is already a proven product in the market. We empower our channel partners to always feel “Connected” with Socomec and thus build loyalty and knowledge in the channel community. Presently, we have the service network reach to over 150 locations through our NSP and BPs and we intend to increase the accessibilities to more than 400 locations across country including tier 2 & tier 3 cities and towns in near future.
