We have the power to create and nurture in us

Q. Could you tell us something about your professional achievements and career progression?

Working with advertising I come from the advertising & media background and have been working for past 10 years now. In my tenure my 6 plus years of association is in the B2B segment. Professionally I feel I have gained knowledge of various manufacturing processes, social media marketing and new digital and analytical tools that have helped me in my work to excel in communicating with all the stakeholders for marketing their products and services.

Q. What are the attributes that helped you to reach where you are in your career?

I would like to start this with a quote “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. – Thomas Edison”. I have adopted this as a mantra and tried my best to keep pushing forward. Commitment and planning were the first step that I have learnt and nurtured in my career.I understand and always have learnt that social media offers a big potential for me to communicate fast and authentically at all levels and I always has been in upgrading my branding skills to promote companies as a global brand for communicating their values among the market.

Q. How far have you succeeded in challenging the stereotypes?

B2B segment is dominated mostly by men and the ratio of female workforce is less in proportion. Fortunately, the organisations I have worked for doesn’t have stereotypes. I had been successful in the last few years to build companies online appearance and introduced social media communication where I was never bound by the barriers. I had been not involved in mass advertising campaigns but primarily resort to always-on content publishing. Also I promote women workforce and had helped them in creating opportunities which have resulted in “breaking the bias”.

Q. How can women entrepreneurs broaden their horizons and become inspiring leaders of tomorrow?

I guess we all have a lot stored in us, what stops us is the conscious of whether we should do something or not, I feel breaking the bias and freeing ourselves from the responsibilities that society has burdened is necessary. Few choose to begin their own small company early. They may have an exceptional business plans and also lots of excitement yet they all have one thing alike, they have funding gaps to make their vision become a fact. It can likewise be testing for female entrepreneurs to find funding for startups. Possibly women battle to protect start-up financing partially because of the mistaken belief that male entrepreneurs are a lot more trustworthy in terms of generating dependable returns because they presently dominate the market.I would say that Entrepreneurs who build a strong network have a greater quantity of resources and an understanding of various funding possibilities can always be successful.

Q. In both essential and digital functions, women suffered the repercussions of the economic and social effects of the pandemic. Your comments?

I feel it’s not only women who had suffered, the whole eco system had gone through a tough time. The impacts of crises are never gender-neutral, and COVID-19 is no exception.. For countless women in economies of every size, along with losing income, unpaid care and domestic work burden has exploded. While everyone is facing unprecedented challenges, women are bearing the brunt of the economic and social fallout of COVID-19.Women who are poor and marginalized face an even higher risk of COVID-19 transmission and fatalities, loss of livelihood, and increased violence. Globally, 70 per cent of health workers and first responders are women, and yet, they are not at par with their male counterparts. At 28 per cent, the gender pay gap in the health sector is higher than the overall gender pay gap (16 per cent).

Q. What’s the message you want to send to young working women?

I would like to convey to the young working women who don’t succumb to any biases, stand strong and help other women to join the work force. We need to be kind but not timid. We have the power to create and nurture in us. We need to be working in various levels in segments of diversified products/services ,it might seem like a time-consuming and indulgent escape, but the reality is that it offers us a unique opportunity to develop a more informed understanding of how various businesses run. This should be a top priority for any working women who are planning to be at the helm of the affairs at work.
