Italian Tech in India and Impresa Awards 2025 Celebrates Excellence and Strengthens Indo-Italian Industrial Partnerships

The Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) successfully hosted the Italian Tech in India – Impresa Awards 2025 on September 19–20, 2025, at The Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai. The two-day summit convened senior policymakers, business leaders, and academic experts from both India and Italy to advance bilateral collaboration in technology, innovation, and industry, while honoring enterprises that exemplify excellence in innovation, sustainability, and leadership.

The event was inaugurated by Walter Ferrara, Consul General of Italy in Mumbai, Alessandro Giuliani, President, IICCI – Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce, Claudio Maffioletti, CEO & SG – IICCI and in the presence of distinguished dignitaries. The opening session underscored how Italy’s technological expertise and India’s scale and ambition can converge to shape a resilient, future-ready partnership.

Infrastructure, Industry, and Energy

Keynote contributions from Vikas Kothari (JM Financial Ltd.) highlighted the M&A landscape The India–Italy M&A landscape is moving from caution to a selective rebound, driven by demand for AI and core sector capabilities. Cross-border deals are increasingly capability- and innovation-focused, rather than scale-driven. Yet, geopolitical shifts and higher interest rates continue to shape the pace and structure of transactions.

Session 1 highlighted opportunities for Indo-Italian cooperation in construction technologies, clean energy, and modernized power grids. A panel moderated by Anish T. (The Industrial) included Sunil Dhangar (DEAL Technology Group), Prabhakar Laddha (Maccaferri Environmental Solutions Pvt. Ltd.), Subodh Nene (Mapei India), and Prof. Neeraj R. Kumbhakarna (IIT Bombay). Discussions emphasized the role of Italian expertise in advancing India’s infrastructure transformation and accelerating the energy transition.

Session 2 was focused on The Future of Mobility

Kedar Gokhale (Tata Technologies Ltd.) delivered a keynote on the global transition toward electrification and sustainable mobility. Moderated by Dr. Hari Vasudevan (DJSCE), the panel featured Luca Bottazzi (Brembo Brakes India Pvt. Ltd.), Nicola Sasso (Dell’Orto India Pvt. Ltd.), Cosimo Cereda (Marposs India Pvt. Ltd.), and Vidhan Bhandari (Dalmec Industrial Manipulators) Mr. Shankar Thekkuvveettil, Streparava India. The session explored synergies in electric vehicle supply chains, propulsion systems, connectivity, and co-development of new mobility solutions.

Session 3 on Advanced Manufacturing began with a keynote speech by Alessandro Giuliani (SDA Bocconi Asia Center) and emphasized the importance of Global Capability Centers (GCCs) as drivers of cross-border innovation. The session was Moderated by Shirish Dongre (The Machining World Express), the panel brought together Sayeed Ahmed (Biesse India Pvt. Ltd.), Edoardo Freschi (IMA Automation, Atop S.p.A), Alessandro Mangino (Vigel Manufacturing Technologies Pvt. Ltd.), and Simone Ciampi (Exprivia IT Solutions). The dialogue focused on AI, robotics, and human-centric automation as enablers of inclusive, globally integrated manufacturing ecosystems.

The awards underscored the role of enterprises in driving innovation, advancing sustainability goals, and strengthening Indo-Italian relations.

An interesting Strategic closed-door Dialogue took place as a concluding meeting to Italian tech 2025.

The summit concluded on September 20th with a Closed-Door Interaction titled “Bridging Horizons: Next Steps for Indo-Italian Tech Partnerships.” This high-level dialogue brought together senior industry leaders and institutional representatives to consolidate the insights of the summit and outline a roadmap for future Indo-Italian cooperation in technology, investment, and industrial development.
