Q. How did Automation industry performed in 2014?
In my opinion, the year 2014 was undoubtedly a better year as compared to the previous one. Industry embraced automation & new technology trends with open arms as it showed more willingness to invest in automation technology. Industry is turning to be leaner, have increased productivity & efficient processes which is largely aided by automation and measurement technology.
Q. What are the future technology trends of the industry?
Technology at Testo is only getting smarter by the day. Testo’s latest measurement solutions deploy all the latest technology – be it data transfer from data loggers through mobile enabled NFC, Android apps to remotely control flue gas analyser, or cloud computing and wireless data monitoring of climate conditions of a production process.
Q. What are initiatives carried out by your company?
Testo India, in 2014, carried out some new product launches for its Indian customers. It brought to them some of the path-breaking technologies in precision measurement technology. Testo is promoting thermography as an effective tool for preventive & predictive electrical & mechanical maintenance in all industries – big or small to avoid failures, malfunctions and downtimes. Its newly launched testo 870 thermal imager brings best-in-class features in a lower price segment bringing thermogrpahy within the reach of small time buyers also. Testo also launched data loggers specially made for transport. Testo revolutionarised transit data logging to such an extent that it reduced the logistics effort to only 3 steps – Start-Stop –Read. Testo also took a strong initiative in energy conservation and launched Testo Energy Kit that comprises of testing & measuring instruments required for energy auditing. Testo, thus, offered its measurement expertise in different fields & applications.
Q. What will be the future of the industry?
Automation is the need of the hour. Automation technologies are making the industries grow stronger and more competitive. Therefore Automation industry is set to show good growth in the coming year as well. I am sure the new year is setting up a platform for more cutting edge automation technologies that are bound to change the way industries work.
