Established in 1989 by our Global Chairman Dr. Eric Chuo, Hiwin is a leading manufacturer in motion control and system technology. HIWIN focuses on creating innovative products with high speed, high precision and energy-saving. Our products, from components to system, include Ball screw, Linear Guideway, Bearing, DATORKER® Strain Wave Gear, Industrial Robot, Wafer Robot, EFEM, Load port, Aligner, Semiconductor System, Torque Motor Rotary Table and Medical Robot. HIWIN products are widely used in Automation, Semiconductor, Electronics, Medical, Transportation and Precision Machine Industries, etc. HIWIN’s products offer intelligent solution and value added to global customers.
Q. What are some key technological innovations or advancements that HIWIN has introduced in the field of motion control and system technology?
Continuous innovation and development is the key to HIWIN’s success. HIWIN emphasizes not only in technology innovations but also on the industry trends. As the industry progresses towards smart manufacturing, HIWIN has developed Industrial Robot, Torque Motor Rotary Table, Ball screw, Linear Guideway and Single Axis Robot with sensors which has functions for life prediction, vibration and temperature diagnosis and smart lubrication which can help customer achieve smart manufacturing.
Q. How does HIWIN prioritize innovation while ensuring the reliability and efficiency of its products?
HIWIN has a strong R&D and state –of- the art-facility for testing. Before we roll out any new products, we do reliability and function tests to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our products. Products like our Ballscrews, Robots, Torque Motor Rotary Tables, Single axis Robots are 100% tested before our shipments. In HIWIN, all employees participate in continuous improvements of our products, constantly enhancing the reliability, efficiency, and performance of current products. We have R&D centres in global subsidiaries, keeping our innovations and technologies ahead.
Q. What impact has HIWIN had on the motion control and system technology industry, and how does it contribute to shaping its future?
HIWIN started business in Ballscrew and Linear Guideways and over the years with innovative R&D activities, we developed products like Single axis robots, DATORKER® Strain Wave Gear, Crossed Roller Bearings and moved on to provide systems like Torque Motor Rotary Tables for 4 and 5 axis machine tool, Multi Axis Robots, EFEM (Equipment Front End Modules) for semiconductor, etc. As the technology continues to evolve, HIWIN is the industrial solution provider. With our affiliated company HIWIN MIKROSYSTEM, we provide high end torque motor, linear motor and precision control drive. We can provide total solution to the industry by providing high precision electro-mechanical product solutions to our global customers.

HIWIN has always been very close to customers, visiting them frequently as we believe the most important part of success is to listen to customers’ voice, understand their needs and the challenge they faced. HIWIN offers smart solutions with value added to meet customer need.

HIWIN encourages all employees to continuously improve their knowledge and skills. We arrange professors and professional consultants for training programmes for HIWIN employees. And later apply in our daily work and life. HIWIN employees dedicated to innovation and apply new patents for HIWIN’s products. HIWIN has registered more than 3,000 patents globally till now.
Q. Can you share a significant customer success story that exemplifies HIWIN’s commitment to its clientele?
HIWIN has always been able to cater to customers’ requirements by providing solutions to industrial leading customers, such as Machine tool, Automation, Semiconductor, Medical, Packaging, Printing, Plastic… etc.
HIWIN has a customer in the printing industry who are regular buyers of HIWIN Linear Guides. This customer decided to develop faster and more precise machines, and HIWIN was able to provide Linear Motor solution with the help of HIWIN MIKROSYSTEM to succeed in customer’s new project. This customer is happy with the value-added solutions HIWIN offered for upgrading its equipment performance and value.
