Essar steel develops eco-friendly material from slag

Essar Steel recently announced that it has developed an eco-friendly material for construction which can completely replace river sand. This sand is developed from slag, a byproduct generated in iron making furnaces.

Slag sand is approved by BIS 2016 for use as fine aggregate in all construction applications. The initial and final strength of the concrete made using slag sand is better compared to normal sand. It can be used in all constructions to replace river sand. The properties are consistent and meets most stringent requirements.
