Q. Kjellberg being the global player in plasma cutting space, Please brief us about recent initiatives undertaken in this space? Which are your focus areas?
Kjellberg is focusing on products and technologies for the automated, mechanized and manual cutting (plasma and laser).
Our state-of-the-art plasma series HiFocus and Smart Focus are based on our patent for the Fine Focus plasma cutting which comprises the additional constriction of the plasma arc by means of a secondary medium (for example gas).Thus the angular deviation could be improved substantially compared to conventional plasma cutting. Inclined cut surfaces which are typical for that process were a thing of the past.
New products and technologies will be presented at the trade fair Schweissen & Schneiden 2017 in Düsseldorf/Germany in September.
Q. What are the market opportunities for Kjellberg products in India? How do you plan to position these products? What is your marketing strategy for India?
Indian market has a great Potential and Kjellberg is much more serious about it. India is big county and we have many opportunities in every corner of India, so we are focusing on developing PAN India network to reach all our customers. That is why we have opened our Indian subsidiary in Pune. We believe that Service is the key to Success. Any Breakdown in Cutting Equipment’s can cause a huge loss, So we have offered Repair Facility for our higher precision Cutting Torch in India. We also help our local OEM/Customers by providing quick “After Sales Support”. Few of our Potential products are also developed in consideration of local Indian customer needs.
Q. Product innovation through R&D is vital to be forrader in the competition, as per your opinion how does R&D plays the role of catalyst in the success process?
The demands on plasma cutting techniques are continuously increasing. We are always aiming at developing solutions that fulfill the requirements of our customers. In this process, R&D plays a vital role as we have here the chance to convert our customers’ incitements as well as developments of the market and new technical approaches into concrete products and technologies.

Our products are made in Germany and pass through tight controls regarding quality. For all service and sales affairs in India we have founded our Indian subsidiary Kjellberg Cutting and Welding India Pvt. Ltd. to support our Indian customers reliably in direct contact.

Since India is a developing country, there are millions of opportunities in almost every sector of India.So we believe that there will be huge demand for metal cutting machineries.

The main competition is laser cutting in compare with plasma cutting. There other cutting technologies also effecting the margins.

At the moment we are strongly focusing on developing solutions for Industry 4.0.

The main goal is to establish a PAN India Network by reaching all customers in every corner of India and offering the highest technology to improve the standard.

Currently Indian Market is dominated by low quality of Plasma machines. Our suggestion is to use higher precision machines to improve the overall Production capacity and Quality of work.
