In an era where the health of our planet is under increasing threat, industry leaders are stepping up to take responsibility and drive meaningful change. From reducing carbon footprints to embracing circular economies and clean technologies, captains of industry are shaping a future where economic growth and environmental stewardship go hand- in-hand. Here’s what some of the visionary minds in the industrial world have to say about protecting the environment and building a more sustainable tomorrow. – Editor
1. “Our Power, Our Planet – Leadership and Responsibility in Action
As we mark World Earth Day 2025, the global call to “triple renewable energy capacity by 2030” feels especially urgent and aligned with the path we have chosen at NBC Bearings. This year’s theme, Our Power, Our Planet, resonates with our philosophy that the responsibility to preserve the planet lies in our collective ability to rethink, re-engineer, and rebuild a greener future.
At NBC, sustainability is not a standalone goal—it is a core strategic pillar. From producing over 10 MW of solar power, to saving over 6 million litres of water annually through robust rainwater harvesting systems, to ensuring zero wastewater discharge, our efforts are embedded in how we operate every day. Several of our buildings are IGBC Platinum Certified, reflecting our commitment to energy-efficient infrastructure.
This year, we took a bold step in our ESG journey. For the first time, we opted for full-version disclosure under CDP, despite the risk of a lower score. I’m proud to share that not only did we uphold our rating in Climate Change and Water Disclosures, we also received good rating in Forest Disclosures—a strong start to full-scale transparency and accountability.
This success is the result of a company-wide push:
- A dedicated ESG teamled by our Chief Sustainability Officer.
- Regular review meetings chaired by the management team.
- Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG inventoriesconducted across all sites.
- Strong supply chain engagement and shop-floor awareness programs.
- Community initiatives like our tree plantation drive, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”.
We believe true sustainability is not achieved in silos. It demands collaboration, constant learning, and a willingness to challenge the status quo. Our manufacturing is evolving with connected factories, energy-efficient systems, and a digital-first mindset—all of which reduce our environmental footprint while enhancing efficiency.
As we move forward, Earth Day serves as a timely reminder that the manufacturing industry must lead by example. With a shared vision, companies across India—and the world—can unite to protect our only home.

2.“Our means of achieving the mission of Net Zero by 2030 include mass scale Afforestation and integrating Remanufacturing of Machines in our business model
Grind Master is one of the first companies in Machine tool industry to include Sustainability as a core value that is integral to our business objective. We have embraced Mission Net Zero by 2030.
Our means of achieving this mission include mass scale Afforestation (1 million trees by 2030) and integrating Remanufacturing of Machines in our business model.
We are on our way to achieve these goals. Over 200,000 trees have been planted and nurtured across 100 forests in our Marathwada region. Our Remanufacturing activities have been appreciated by several discerning customers including Cummins diesel and Maruti Suzuki.
