1950 : Flagship Company started under the name of Ravin Trading Company
1978 : First manufacturing facility established in Gujarat in name of Special Cables Industries
1982 : Ravin Cables Pvt. Ltd. established

1999 : ISO 9002 Certificate awarded to the Pune plant and Ravin commences exports

2008-09: Fujairah plant commissioned under the name of Power Plus Company LLC.
2008 : 132 kV system for DHAKA Electric commissioned
2009 : 132 kV system for MahaGenco commissioned. Ravin forays into molecular sieve moisture removal system for transformers (TRANSEC)
2010-11 : Power Plus products type tested and approved at KEMA
2012 : Ravin forays into renewable energy (Solar systems)

CABLES – SOLAR CABLES

• Solar Cables are designed to meet the growing needs of the solar industry. Our solar cables are just the beginning of our plans to promote green technology in wires & cables.

TRANSEC

• Ravin introduces TRANSEC, a molecular moisture management system, developed and manufactured in India under license from TRANSEC (UK), that continuously removes water from the oil and from the paper insulation in a power transformer.
• This process not only reduces ageing, but also improves the dielectric strength of the oil.
• By constantly reducing the level of water content within the oil & solid insulation, where over 95% of the water is trapped, will migrate into the oil to maintain the natural water equilibrium.
• TRANSEC is designed to be a slow, non-invasive, gradual process, that will by lowering the ppm level of water in the oil to maintain the natural hydrostatic equilibrium, and hence, significantly reduce the water content within the solid insulation.

Advantages of TRANSEC

• Reduces insulation ageing, improves dielectric strength of oil and increases reliability of the transformer.
• TRANSEC on a wet (insulation water content 4% by dry weight) hot transformer operating in a hot humid ambient climate might saturate in 6 to 9 months.
• TRANSEC on a dry (insulation water content 1% by dry weight) operating at 50°C might take 24 months to saturate. A TRANSEC on a brand new transformer (insulation water content 0.3% by dry weight) might take 5 years before saturation.
