I believe in setting realistic goals and tracking them regularly

Q. Could you tell us something about your professional achievements and career progression?

Like many young aspirants, I had a very humble start as an account executive with an investment broker. It was a journey full of learning: as an enthusiastic student and a professional.

I am a qualified Chartered Accountant with successful 20 years in diversified industry exposure to Manufacturing, IT, and Financial Markets.

I consider myself fortunate to associate with a US fortune 500 company to lead the team as Lead Auditor and BU Manager. Today, I work as an independent Finance Professional acting as a Virtual CFO and providing outsourced finance solutions to multiple MNCs.

Q. What are the attributes that helped you to reach where you are in your career?

Dedication, Agility, Passion, Versatility, believing in willpower and consistently working towards achieving the goal.

I believe in setting realistic goals and tracking them regularly. To my surprise, I could achieve them in less than the time expected.

Q. How far have you succeeded in challenging the stereotypes?

I can say, yes, I have succeeded fairly well. With my experience in corporate life, I observed that Intellect always prevails gender bias.

Q. How can women entrepreneurs broaden their horizons and become inspiring leaders of tomorrow?

I believe compassion and care are nature’s gifts to women. We give a different dimension beyond just the commercials to every decision & this always creates synergies and balancing acts.

Q. In both essential and digital functions, women suffered the repercussions of the economic and social effects of the pandemic. Your comments?

Honestly, I slightly differ from this generalized opinion. During Pandemic, women have successfully managed to work from home and have demonstrated their professionalism while fulfilling the duties. At the same time and respectfully got support from families in the household chores. Many women got good opportunities due to the WFH facility & some have even managed to fill up the gap between career and started a fresh.

Q. What’s the message you want to send to young working women?

Being a woman is a boon! Always strive to make the most out of these inherent strengths: emotions and sensitivity and bring positivity while shining throughout the career.

Consider ‘Profession Life’ as an opportunity to express and strive to bring positive change around you. And most importantly, enjoy every role of life that a woman is blessed to perform.
