Mr. V.P. Mahendru, CEO & CMD, Eon Electric Ltd.
Born on 18th February 1933 in West Punjab, Mr. Ved Prakash Mahendru after receiving excellent school and college education, graduated from the Delhi University in the year 1952.
In 1958, he promoted Eon Electric Limited for manufacturing and marketing Electrical Distribution and Safety Equipment. The Group has since been growing by leaps and bounds with its various manufacturing plants in Jalandhar (Punjab), Son`epat (Haryana), Noida (Uttar Pradesh) and in Parwanoo (Himachal Pradesh), manufacturing a wide various of Low Voltage Electrical Switchgear, Fusegear, Protection and Lighting Equipment.
Mr. Mahendru is a dynamic and energetic personality well known in the business and social circles. He has been the President of Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA) for the year 2001-02; President of Rotary Club Jalandhar; President of Northern India Switchgear Manufacturers Association (NISMA); President of Federation of Engineering Industries of India (FEII) and others. He has also participated and led number of delegations of industrialists and exporters to Russia, Europe, Middle East including Jordan, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, etc.; African countries including South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, etc.; Australia and New Zealand for export promotion and technology tie-ups.
He is also member of the Governing Body of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS/ISI) contributing to the strategic policies for formulation and implementation of Indian Standards for various electrical and electronic equipment. He is also executive member of various policy-making bodies of Government of India, including the Central Consumer Protection Council of India, National Productivity Council, etc.
The ‘Digital India’ campaign has enthused the Indian industry and the people of India at large. It is critical however that the Government has to lay down a clear road map and time schedule to implement these policies.

We are hopeful that the NDA Government will fulfill most of its promises in the coming years before long.”
