Q.Please brief its journey from the inception?
Lakshmi Ring Travellers (Coimbatore) Limited (LRT), a group company of reputed Lakshmi Machine Works Limited (LMW) is situated in Coimbatore, India. LRT was incorporated in the year 1974 and had started its subcontract activities in the year 1978. It started manufacturing CNC profile cutting machine since 1992 in collaboration with Zinser Germany. In fact, LRT was one of the first company in India to manufacture CNC profile cutting machines in India. The factory premises where subcontract activities/ manufacturing of CNC machines are done occupies an area of 10,500 sqm and the built up space of 5,500 sqm.

Core business of the company includes :
Manufacturing of CNC Profile cutting machines. Sub contract operations in the machining field Foundry division – Manufacturers carbon and stainless steel castings Manufacturing of Ring Travellers and application tools

Q. What are the market prospects for your company products in India and How do you plan to position these products?
There is tremendous scope for profile cutting machines in India. Any company involved in fabrication using sheets would require this irrespective of the size of the company if they need to increase the productivity and achieve precision in their cutting. If profiles are to be cut then this is a must. Today Plasma is the most affordable technology available and the fastest growing segment in Profile cutting and we are concentrating on this. Being the Pioneers, our products have good acceptance in the market and we are known for producing heavy duty high precision machines. We have further strengthened our marketing and service set up recently to cope up with the increasing demand. We produce products which are best in class available anywhere in the world and offering it at competitive prices. Our major strength is the after sales service and the knowledge base we have in this field.

Q. Can you brief us about the marketing strategies that were applied in order to stand out in the competition among industry?
One of the main features of the machine is its heavy fabricated structure which will ensure trouble free accurate cutting for years to come. This is offered at very competitive prices with best after sales service. Our main asset is the faith and confidence our customers have on us.

The proof of this is the many repeat orders we have. Unlike the various system integrators in this field, we are a corporate company who will not sacrifice the quality of the machine for reducing the costs. We buy all plasma sources from Hypertherm , USA including the total accessories and Torch height control. Coupled with this our after sales service and the commitment to our users and trust they have on us differentiates us from the many in this field.

Q. Please elucidate in brief about your company’s infrastructure & What are the measure that are being taken from the product manufacturing to distribution?
LRT is part of the well known Lakshmi Machine Works (LMW) group. As part of this dynamic group LRT has enormous resources – technology, expertise and experience at its command. We have the complete range of CNC machine tools to do all the operations as much as possible in house.

This includes the latest CNC HMCs and VMCs from Makino and LMW, CNC Universal milling machine from Anayk, CNC Vertical turning centre from O’M, LMW, Double column plano millers from HEC and TOS Hulin, Vertical and Horizontal milling machines from HMT, Tos Kurim and various other SPM Lathes, Horizontal and Vertical Drilling machines, Hydraulic press bending press etc from various makes. Q.Brief us about your new launches?
We have launched our new product of Profile cutting machines – Cut Delight at IMTEX 2012 and this is a result of our strong R&D and development team. We have incorporated many changes in the design to make it more compact , increase cutting accuracies without compromising on the ruggedness of the machine.

The new model will also have an advanced CNC control systems which is very easy to use and incorporates latest touch screen system. We use Zinser make flame cutting torches which can cut upto 300 mm thick MS sheets with precision , and speed of cut is much better than other makes. The machines are rugged and meant for heavy duty applications. The machines have a dual drive gantry axis and planetary gearbox for axis movement. Cutting width of the machines can be customized from 1.5 meters to 6 meters in multiples of 0.5 m. There is no restrictions for the length of the machine. We are very confident that our new model will offer maximum value to our customers and we will delight all our prospective customers.

Q. What is your vision for your company ?
We strongly feel that in this product category – CNC Profile cutting machines would be able to achieve growth rates of 50% plus which is already there this year and are confident that with the improved industry outlook we will be able to maintain this for next 4-5 years.
