Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2017Mitsubishi Electric India, a leading player in Factory Automation is pursuing a vision to shape the future through technology that ensures a brighter, better and greener ‘tomorrow.’ The second edition of the Mitsubishi Electric Cup- 2017 underscores this vision with its theme “Intelligent Manufacturing for Greener Tomorrow”

Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2017Conceived as a national-level automation competition for students in India, the second edition, Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2017, offers a challenging platform for students to collaborate, innovate and excel in the field of Automation thus ultimately contributing to the National Mission of Skill Development in the long run. Students will be asked to independently design and produce a complete set of devices or models by using Mitsubishi Electric factory automation products (including PLC, servo, inverter and human-machine interface) with the control system based on e&eco-F@ctory concepts. As per the theme “Intelligent Manufacturing for Greener Tomorrow”, it is expected to include IoT, interfacing through web based solutions and connectivity with upper layer of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2017This year’s competition aims at improving the ability of college students for engineering application, arouse their interests in learning engineering technology, build up an innovation capacity and cooperation spirit in them, as well as improve self management ability and communication skills. It is also intended to embody the “learning for practice” ideology, review students’ actual manufacturing and commissioning abilities, meanwhile enhance exchange and cooperation between university and enterprise.

Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2017The organizing committee of Mitsubishi Electric Cup will shortlist top 35 teams, who would need to prepare working model of various industrial manufacturing processes, energy saving solutions, smart solutions for building automation etc. Teams will be provided with technical support, training and Factory Automation equipment to make the working model, on a returnable basis by Mitsubishi Electric India.  Additionally, each team will be given a financial support of Rs. 7000 upon achievement of required skillset. All the participants will be given certificates of participation and the winning team will get a prize worth of Rs. 1 lakh. The runner up team will be awarded prize worth of Rs. 75,000 while the team winning the third spot will be given prize worth of Rs. 50, 000 and many more prizes in different categories.

Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2017The last date for registration and submission of proposal is September 1, 2016. The top 35 teams selected will be announced on September 15, 2016 and these teams will have to submit their intermediate reports by December 15, 2016.
