Q. FAAC Automation has been operational from longtime; please share some of your milestones & achievements?
FAAC Spa Italy has been a pioneer in application of hydraulics in doors & gates in 1965; the journey which now is celebrating its 50th year of incorporation. Today FAAC is designing, building and marketing the safest, most reliable solutions for every pedestrian and vehicle need. Our footprint today spans 16 plants and more than 80 distribution points across the globe. FAAC India as a direct subsidiary of FAAC Spa Italy started its operations in India in 2005. Earlier we were operating through import channels. It has been a tough journey of over 20 years where the market was more used to working with manual equipment. The entire market creation job has thus been on the shoulders of FAAC India for developing the Gate and Pedestrian Automation market. The initial days even our high security zones like airports used to operate their manual barriers with a pole tied to a rope and an armed guard pulling a rope to let the vehicles pass. Today we consider this an achievement that every time there is high security installation coming up people think of Boom barriers and bollards. The toll plazas, hospitality industry and the residential apartments are the other segments which today make automated barriers a standard feature. With our wide range of products with specific applications for each of the above segments we have been able to educate and develop these segments

Q. Which are the some of your pioneering products you introduced in the market recently or is there any plan to launch the new products?
Some of the new products we introduced this year were:
Boom Barrier B-680: This product is a pioneer in the industry with hybrid technology of Hydraulic + brushless 24V motors, same barrier from 2.3 meter to 8.3 meter boom length, IP 55, reverse on contact, LED lights, In-build loop detector
Bollards J355& J200: this product is launched for very high security area. These are having very high impact resistance i.e. 656 kilo joule. These are also provided with emergency fast operation which allows deploying the bollard in 1.5 sec only. And no maintenance required after emergency operation.
Day / Night Window Opener: These kits are designed to control multi shutter and window from inside. A single operator for 16 different type of shutter configuration. A common product for the multi application
Q. What are your strategies to improve the FAAC Automation‘s position in Indian & global market as well?
FAAC being a global leader is continually improving its productline accordance with our stated goal:
“Safe & Green : a new approach to the world of automatic systems”
Our automatic systems which have been launched in last one decade all confirm to above stated goal. The new systems and solutions are able to effectively respond to the topics for which it is very fond of:
- The safety of the automated installations is fully compliant to EU norms and current standards
- Reduction of energy consumption enables a lower environmental impact and, as a consequence, a quantifiable cost saving for the end user.
FAAC is the undisputed leader in automated systems for opening gates and garages and is a very important company in the European industrial system.
In India faac is since year 2005 and we were the first
- To complete the fully automatic multi-level car parking with guidance system largest in India (Delhi Airport -T3)
- We were the first to install the crash bollard in India
Q. What are the key technological trends that are driving the access control industry?
Key technological trends driving the access control industry:
- biometric technology for physical verification
- real time information for any access
- minimizing the physical effort by using the automatic sensing technology.
- Use microprocessor technology in the controlling device to select the desired option as per need.
- Technology for effective management of vehicular traffic/ space management and pedestrian traffic management with authentication.
Q. What is your vision for FAAC Automation?
FAAC globally exists for improving the customer’s lifestyle and convenience, while safely controlling environment around us. This we do by designing technologically advanced, extremely safe and reliable products. Thus in process; we happen to make great operators which are applicable to any automatic entrance to be used by people and vehicle in daily life. FAAC India has continued this 50 year old global journey by customizing the global range to suit Indian conditions and continue to be a leader in the Automation market providing complete perimeter access solutions. We will continue to strive to give our customers solutions which complete their basket for automatic entrance control to be used by people and vehicle in our daily life.
