Prasad GWK Cooltech Pvt. Ltd., Ahmedabad, India, is a leading manufacturer of compact chillers and central chilling plants for industrial applications such extrusion, die cooling, lamination, moulding, and cooling of moulds. The Prasad Group is ISO-9001 certified and offers a very diversified range of high quality products in textiles, narrow fabric industries, vacuum pumping systems, and plastics auxiliary equipment.

The Situation

The Prasad Group was established in 1967. In 1996 a joint venture Prasad GWK Cooltech Pvt. Ltd. was formed as a co-operation between Prasad and Gesellschaft Warm Kaltetechnik mbH of Germany.

Gesellschaft Warm Kaltetechnik, GWK, has for more than twenty years been manufacturing world-class energy-efficient compact chillers and mould temperature controllers mainly aimed at the plastics industry. Prasad GWK Cooltech Pvt. Ltd. was established in order to combine the GWK know-how with the Prasad Group’s very strong position in the Indian and South East Asian markets.

GWK knows Grundfos from its activities in Europe, and it was natural, therefore, to choose Grundfos as the supplier of pumps for Prasad GWK Cooltech’s production of compact chillers and centralised chilling plants.

The Grundfos Solution

 The Grundfos CM range of multistage centrifugal pumps offers a very compact design that make the pumps easy to fit even where space is limited. It is a robust design with a leakage-free mechanical shaft seal and stainless steel hydraulic parts. As an option, the pumps can be supplied in all-stainless versions.
