Founded in 1988, HARTING Hong Kong has been the Asian head quarter for 25 years to support all HARTING subsidiaries in Asia. In 1998 HARTING has entered the Chinese market by opening the production plant in Zhuhai. HARTING has mainly focused on the factory automation, transportation, renewable energy, power transmission and machinery markets. HARTING is proud to be the first global connector manufacturer in the China market awarded the China Compulsory Certification (CCC). HARTING has been expanding rapidly its sales network in China over the past years and operates now in Hong Kong, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Xiamen, Changsha, Wuhan, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Suzhou, Nanjing, Chengdu, Xian, Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Tianjin, Beijing, Shenyang, Changchun and Taipei.

The current Zhuhai manufacturing site, with an initial investment of more than 16 million USD, is the supply chain, logistics, training, research and development center for Asia. Production in Zhuhai started with simple assembly and now covers full line production of connector´s hoods and housings, backplane connector, backplane design and solution. HARTING Zhuhai manufactures a wide range of products with the latest technology in die casting, zinc casting, injection molding, CNC tapping and milling, surface coating, SMT and automatic assembly machines. HARTING Zhuhai supplies and serves customers with mezzanine connectors, micro card edge connectors, D-sub connectors, mini coax connectors, industrial cable assemblies, telecom and medical cable assemblies, wire harnesses, heavy duty connectors, backplanes, solenoids, die casting and injection molding. The certified research and development center can provide local product management for customer specific product design-in and can contribute to an increased number of local key projects.

HARTING not only cares about business development but also places great emphasis on environmental protection, employee safety and local communities. By integrating the water treatment facility in the grinding machine, the water used to clean this machine is 100 % recycled. The water recycling facility protects the environment by minimizing water consumption to an extent beyond Chinese government requirements. HARTING’s concern for employee well-being goes beyond legal safety requirements. The air filtering system on the aluminum melting furnace provides a more comfortable working environment by extracting the hot air and fumes.

HARTING is highly committed to China community. Since 2007 HARTING has been providing scholarships to Jinan University, and to JinDing Number 1 Primary School in Zhuhai since 2012. Over the years, more than 100 students of Jinan University, Zhuhai campus as well as JinDing benefited. HARTING will be expanding company donations in the future and the Technology Group is dedicated to flourish potential engineers or technology innovators.

In Hong Kong, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed in 2012 between the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and HARTING Technology Group to strengthen the collaboration of research and developments in advanced Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Technologies and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. Through the partnership, PolyU will focus the research to promote worldwide standardization, testing and certification of RFID. Reaching our China 15th, Hong Kong 25th anniversary, HARTING is confident to push future growth in the region.
