Three world premieres complement the successful NLX range
No less than three impressive world premieres in the new DMG MORI design complemented the successful NLX series at EMO. Every year, considerably more than 1,200 NLX machines are sold. The NLX series provides its users with a maximum of performance, flexibility and reliability. The integrated cooling system in the machine bed ensures better thermal stability. The flat guides in all axes serve as optimum basis for efficient turning.
World premiere NLX2500/500: Perfect 2-axis turning on 3.5?m² for short workpiece lengths up to 500?mm
The NLX2500/500 was specifically developed for short turned parts up to 500?mm in length and provides high rigidity on the smallest footprint for optimum machining conditions in the 2-axis area of universal turning. More specifically, the installation area of the new development is only 3.5?m². The high rigidity mostly results from reducing the distance between tooltip and flat guides.
With regard to the technical data, the NLX2500/500 provides a maximum turning diameter of 460?mm. The bar capacity for this machine measures 91?mm. The traverse paths in X- and Z-direction are specified as 260?mm or 500?mm respectively. The tool turret has space for 10 (optionally 12) tools. The standard version of the main spindle provides a rotational speed of up to 4,000?min-1 at 15?kW.
Finally, an important feature for the machining accuracy is the excellent temperature management of the NLX2500/500. For this purpose, the coolant floods through the machine body and the machine bed in a circuit, ensuring a constant temperature of the whole machine.
World premiere NLX3000MC/1250: Accurate efficient turning and milling with BMT turret up to 1,250?mm turning length
Next to the general advantages of the NLX series from DMG MORI, the new NLX3000MC/1250 provides the additional highlight of the BMT turret with turning lengths up to 1,250?mm and a bar capacity of 111?mm. BMT (“Built-In Motor Turret”) refers to the integrated direct tool drive, which provides optimum conditions also for heavy milling operations with rpms of up to 10,000?min-1 and the high torque of up to 54?Nm. Even large threads up to M²4 x P3.0 can be optimally machined. The wide flat guides provide ideal conditions here for complex turning/milling complete machining. The coolant circuit of the NLX3000MC/1250 through the machine body and machine bed also guarantees high precision, ensuring a consistent temperature of the whole machine.
World premiere NLX4000BY/1500: Efficient complete machining of large workpieces of up to 500?mm diameter and 1,500?mm turning length
Characteristic highlights of the NLX4000BY/1500 are the large traverse path in the X-axis of 1,500?mm on the one hand. On the other hand, steady rests of up to 310?mm diameter can be mounted for supporting workpieces. The maximum turning diameter is 600?mm for the version with driven tools (MC). For the model with integrated Y-axis, the turning diameter measures a maximum of 500?mm, whereby the Y-axis in turn provides a traverse path of 120?mm. The machine is optionally available with 145?mm or 185?mm, depending on the bar capacity. Furthermore, this EMO debut also impresses with the BMT turret. Like its “siblings”, the NLX4000BY/1500 is extremely compact and requires only a small footprint in relation to the size of the machinable workpieces. The coolant circuit through machine body and machine bed equally ensures high precision for the NLX4000BY/1500.
CELOS from DMG MORI
All three NLX world premieres were presented at EMO with CELOS with 21.5″ ERGOline® and MITSUBISHI and will be available from April 2014. CELOS from DMG MORI simplifies and accelerates the process from the idea to the finished product. CELOS APPs provide the user with integrated management, documentation and visualisation of order, process and machine data. CELOS is compatible with PPS and ERP systems, can be networked with CAD / CAM applications and is ready for future-oriented CELOS APP extensions.
NLX in the new design of DMG MORI
All three EMO world premieres of the NLX series presented themselves to the professional visitors with a new, common design for more functionality, user-friendliness and value retention. Furthermore, large safety glass panes ensure maximum visibility into the work area and thus provide better monitoring of the manufacturing process. In addition, the panes can be dismounted from the outside, which facilitates dismounting in case of service issues.
Moreover, the long life surfaces with fine structure in the premium area of the housing are a novelty. The surfaces provide a higher scratch resistance and better protection against damages. The new DMG MORI design is optionally available in “BLACK” or “WHITE” for increased individuality at no additional cost. A highlight of the new DMG MORI design is the ERGOline® with 21.5″ multi-touch screen and infinitely adjustable display and control panel for comfortable working. The SMARTkey® is also new for personalised authorisation of the operator. This ensures individual access rights to the control and the machine.
