Valimail identity-based anti-phishing solutions provider inaugurated its new innovation and engineering hub in Denver, Colorado.

“Valimail’s Mountain Office is already staffed with outstanding R&D team members, and we plan to at least double the headcount over the next year,” said Erica Schneider, senior technical recruiter at Valimail, who relocated from San Francisco to help grow the new office.

“While our primary focus right now is recruiting the best and brightest engineering and developer talent Denver has to offer, we’re eventually looking to hire business development, customer success, and other supporting roles as well.”

“Denver was an attractive choice for us, not only because of an extremely talented pool of skilled employees, but also because of its rich cybersecurity ecosystem,” said Valimail co-founder and CEO Alexander García-Tobar. “It’s an ideal place for us to invest as we rapidly expand the company.”

The new Valimail office will serve as headquarters for the development of a new product line that will help Valimail close one of the world’s largest cybersecurity gaps — the email identity problem.

“It’s almost a cliché now that every major breach starts with a phishing email, but that’s because email lacks a robust, built-in sender identity model, so attackers have been able to exploit that weakness through impersonation attacks,” said García-Tobar. “You may know this as phishing, CEO fraud, or business email compromise, but what they all have in common is that they are all, at their root, a result of the lack of identity verification within email.”
