Q. Please brief us about company’s global reach & latest initiatives?
Bosch Rexroth is one of the world’s leading specialists for drive and control technologies, creating custom solutions for driving, controlling and moving under Rexroth brand for customers. Bosch Rexroth serves as a partner for Mobile Applications, Machinery Applications and Engineering, Factory Automation, as well as Renewable Energies.
The company meets each specific market’s needs and unique characteristics. As The Drive & Control Company, Bosch Rexroth develops, produces and distributes its components and systems in over 80 countries. Since 1974 the company is located in India and established the plant in Ahmedabad and customizing unit in Bangalore supporting Indian markets for sales & marketing, for industrial and mobile hydraulic, electric drives and controls, linear motion and assembly technologies, pneumatics as well as service Locations in Ahmedabad, Pune and Bangalore Our Ahmedabad plant, manufactures hydraulic valves, blocks, cylinders and power units.
The customizing unit in Bangalore is used for small hydraulic power packs, pneumatic panels, cabinets and cylinders, cutting and assembly line for linear motion products.
Q. What are the market opportunities for your company’s products in India? How do you plan to position these products?
India is attractive destination with enormous growth possibilities. The technology levels of the machinery being produced in India are increasing and we believe that we can serve these markets and applications with solution which can add value to customer’s expectations.. In the past, customers were looking mainly only cost and simple application solution.. Now, due to the demands from the machine users, they talk and understand the need for scalability, flexibility, quality and productivity.
These issues mean new solutions to new problems clearly driving the market to new investments. Many application areas which were addressed globally are now developing in India, and these provide the opportunity for growth for our products as we provide integrated one stop solution for various applications.
Q. What is your marketing strategy for India?
Bosch Rexroth in India supplies high quality driving, controlling and moving solutions thus becoming the supplier of first choice for hydraulic, electrical pneumatic and mechatronic components and systems. The group in India is responsible for all Indian customers.
We want to develop ourselves inline with market size and need across India and to achieve this we need to manufacture and to design locally and build suppliers in the region. We will focus more on developing local variants based on our product platforms becoming “local” in all key markets that understands and implements Indian requirements.

Q. Is there any plans for expansion & new investment in India to cater the demand of the industry?
We have recently commissioned our new state of the art manufacturing facility at Sanand, Ahmedabad, and Gujarat. Going beyond production, we have developed the Ahmedabad plant more and more in to technology center. This is in line with our further growth and addressing Indian customer needs therby becoming local in all key markets which are important. This new plant not only has a complete variety of hydraulic products, but also provides the design of the complete hydraulic equipment and the system. The new Service centre is to increase service and training activities for OEMs, end user and universities.
Q. What are the key technological trends that are driving the industry?
The market fluctuations have shifted the trends in market. Customers are increasingly looking for single source that can cater their needs by supplying all Drive and Control technologies from single source. Although cost plays an important role but quality, machine safety, energy efficiency coupled with productivity started dominating when customer specifically goes for a solution. It is also easier for a customer to ask for a comprehensive solution form a single source who can supply range in D&C technology. This trend will persist and open new dimensions in Drive &Control technology segment.
