Raytek Marathon infrared pyrometers reliably monitor glass production processes without the risk of contaminating the product

A patron of the German Pavilion at the GLASSPEX INDIA exhibition, Raytek presented infrared temperature monitoring systems tailored to the glass industry. The contact-free technology ensures maximum reliability and speed without the risk of contaminating the product. The manufacturer offers measurement solutions and powerful analysis software for all stages of glass production and processing. Autonomous systems in a rugged housing are available as well as OEM solutions with record small dimensions. Raytek is represented in India by three own offices in New Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai, and five distributors that service all of the country.

One of the exhibition highlights, the Raytek Marathon series of fixed pyrometers combines intelligent digital electronics and a modern electro-optical system with robust housings and application-specific accessories. The range comprises IR thermometers for single and multi-channel operation (ratio pyrometers), thermometers for short wavelengths, and IR thermometers with fibre optics.

In glass moulding and coating lines, the Raytek MP150 infrared line scanner generates thermal images, overseeing the correct heating of every single pane and the even temperature distribution. Damages are instantly displayed, and users can immediately make corrections to the process configuration if required.

Raytek’s sister company Ircon presented the versatile applications of its Modline 7 series. The rugged Ircon Modline 7 infrared pyrometer with cooling jacket can be used at ambient temperatures up to 315 °C. The Modline 77 and 78 models were application-tailored for the production of float glass and ultra-thin drawn glass and will also be shown in Mumbai.

Company Background
Raytek GmbH develops, manufactures, distributes, and services infrared sensors under the brands of RAYTEK and IRCON for noncontact temperature measurement within a range from -50 to +3,000 °C. The sensors allow for quick and accurate measurements of surface temperatures without touching the medium. Typical applications include steelworks, glassworks, cement plants, and plastics manufacturing. The product range includes fixed infrared sensors, infrared linescanners, and thermal imagers. All the devices are suitable for fixed installation in plants and machines and can be integrated into process-monitoring systems via industry-specific interfaces.

Raytek has 50 years of experience in infrared temperature measurement. Raytek GmbH in Berlin is responsible for marketing, sales, and service in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Regional offices and numerous authorized distributors around the globe ensure customer proximity, rapid service, and individual consultation on site. Raytek is a Fluke company. A sister company in the Fluke Group is DATAPAQ, a world leader in the manufacture of temperature measurement and analysis systems for all types of industrial heating processes.
