Q. Please brief us about company’s global reach & latest initiatives?
Electronics Devices Worldwide Pvt Ltd is a leading manufacturer of Inverter based machinery since 1974. We are brand leaders in Induction Cap Sealing, & Induction Heating Machines, Die-electric Pre-heaters & SigmaWeld Welding Inverters. We have now exports to more than 70 countries including the USA, Europe and Africa. With our in house Research and Development team we constantly keep updating the technology for Energy Efficient equipments which heat, seal or Weld with repeated and consistent quality performance at lowest possible energy consumption. We have now a full fledged automation team to take care of the ever growing Automation needs in Welding, Induction Heating and Induction Capsealing.
Q. What are the market opportunities for your company’s products in India? How do you plan to position these products?
We have three product lines SigmaTherm (Induction Heat Treatment Equipments) , SigmaCapseal (Induction Cap Sealing Equipments for Packing Solutions) and SigmaWeld( Digital Welding Inverters for ARC, TIG, MIG and SAW Applications). SigmaTherm caters to the ever growing automobile sector for Forging, Hardening, Annealing, Tempering, Brazing, Bright Annealing applications etc. We also manufacture the complete automated Hardening and Tempering lines for steel bars. We have done many projects which have been first time in the world like online hardening for Engine Valves etc. SigmaCapSeal is the pioneer and market leader in capsealing solutions for Food, Pharma, Cosmetic, Lubricant, Oil Industries. We are the global partners for many multinational companies for the packaging solutions. We have generated many innovative product lines for Plastic and glass containers.
Our most recent developments have been the break though technology for Metal to Metal Sealing of Drums Enclosures and Tin Containers for temper evidence and leak proof packaging. SigmaWeld series of Digital Welding Inverters cater to the Indian metal working industry for the Arc, Tig, Mig, SAW welding applications. We are one of the few manufactures with 100% indigenous technology. SigmaWeld has features that can compete with any leading multinational brand, customized for the Indian Working conditions and Indian Welders. SigmaWeld welding inverters save upto 40% energy compared to traditional welding equipments existing in the market.
Q. What is your marketing strategy for India?
EDWPL, was founded on the basis of making Indian products with global standards for the Indian and international markets (import substitutes) We belive in working closely with the end users (customers) and proving customized solution which helps the increase their productivity and reduce running costs by energy saving and long life of equipments.
Q. Is there any plans for expansion & new investment in India to cater the demand of the industry?
Although the Indian manufacturing industry has not been growing in the past couple of years, we believe that there is a huge scope for technology up gradation and automation in all fields. With the cost of Skilled manpower increasing and availability of them reducing, automation and semi-automation is the way forward. We at EDWPL, have a dedicated team and plan to expand our resources for complete automation solutions which are cost effective and help reduce dependency on skilled man power in the field of Induction Heating, Induction Sealing and Welding.
Q. What is the top line product range & Is there any plans to launch new products?
We have new product launches planned for the Q4 of 2013 and Q1 of 2014 in all our product lines,
Touch Screen based Induction Sealing equipments which have higher production capacities and many new quality control sensors. Induction heaters for Pre and Post weld heat treatment are also due for launch in Q1 of 2014. Many new models for TIG welding and MIG welding are in pipeline for 2014 launch.
Q. What are the key technological trends that are driving the industry?
Growing cost of energy is a driving factor to ensure all technology developments are towards saving and consuming lower energy levels. Our efforts are also in the same direction with the help of our RnD team.
Lack of skilled manpower , is another driving factor today for the industry. Technology is being upgraded to ensure lesser dependence on skilled manpower also increasing productivity and consistent quality via Automation.
