Mr. Farrokh Cooper, Chairman and Managing Director of Cooper Corp, a Satara based manufacturer of diesel engines turns 70 recently. Taking forward the legacy of the company that his grandfather Sir Dhunjisha B Cooper established in 1922, the agriculture graduate turned businessman talked about Cooper’s ambitions of doubling its Rs. 700 crores turnover in less than five years.

Cooper Corporation believes in a forward-looking approach to business. As an effective insulation from the vagaries of economic cycles, the company has consistently ploughed back its profits into operations. It has taken several measures to promote conservation of resources, like installation of voltage stabilizers, automatic power correction panels and energy efficient light fittings. The company is practicing wind farming by investing in 15 windmills. The manufacturing systems of Cooper are equal to the best internationally and comprise state of the art facilities for assembly and machining of major engine components. All equipment is CNC / PLC controlled and linked by robots.

Dedicated Machining lines are commissioned for each of the components which are manufactured in-house viz. cylinder block, cylinder head, etc. All equipment for casting, machining and quality control has been sourced from leading suppliers in India and overseas to ensure very high levels of efficiency and reliability. Years of in-house research has culminated in the launch of the Cooper ECOPACK gensets. These Low fuel consumption generators are lighter in weight, smaller in size and meet with the European Emission norms.

Cooper Corporation launched India’s Most Cost Efficient, Power Packed 3 Cylinder Gensets in Mumbai at the Power Exhibition Center at Goregaon on May 07, 2013, after which Cooper exported its first batch of gensets to the Ukraine & Saudi Arabia.
