Q. How would you introduce your company in two minutes?

The Kistler Group develops sensors and systems to measure pressure, force, acceleration and torque. Our products can be used to measure processes on the frontiers of physics. Kistler’s solutions facilitate the analysis of physical processes; they control industrial operations and deliver valuable information that is used to optimize product quality. The knowledge gained often prompts customers to develop their own innovations, thereby strengthening their competitive edge. “Technological leadership, proximity to the customer and a highly committed workforce has helped Kistler group to grow very successfully and dynamically in recent years. Q. Kistler operates in which product and industry verticals?

Kistler’s product offering is used for Engine development and monitoring, Vehicle technology, Plastics pro-cessing, Metal machining, Roads & Highways, Technical Research as well as Assembly and testing technology. We supply sensors, electronics, software and flanking services from one single source. So, we work very closely with Automotive, Machine Building, Defence, IITs & Highway Industry verticals.

Q. Tell us about your Production Monitoring product range?

Our maXYmos XY Monitors are used for 100 % Quality in Production, Assembly and Product Testing. We have maXYmos BL – XY-Monitor for Quality Control & Type 5867B XY-Monitor for industrial applications. The main Properties of these units are: 16 measuring programs, Up to 8000 XY-values per curve, Color touchscreen, up to 4 evaluation objects per curve & Functionality expandable via licensing.

Q. Tell us about your Joining Systems business unit?

Kistler offers a wide range of products that guarantee complete monitoring and control of press-fit and joining processes – including sensors, measuring chains, monitors, evaluation units and NC joining systems. Typically, these products are used in the automobile industry and the automotive supply sector, e.g. for assembling engines or transmissions. Kistler’s portfolio includes the maXYmos family – making us the only provider to offer a complete family of products with a uniform operating philosophy for tasks ranking from XY process monitoring all the way through to extended control of NC joining modules. Kistler systems are outstandingly user-friendly and their integrated sequential control ensures maximum flexibility to handle joining processes, no matter how complex. The main advantages of our Servo Spindles are – Energy-efficient systems: up to 80% savings on energy, Low installation outlay, space-saving design, Monitoring and traceability of joining processes & Low-maintenance operation. NC joining systems deliver comprehensive control and monitoring of all joining and press-fit processes.

Q. How much does Kistler invest in R&D and what is the scale of Global setup?

Kistler Instrumente AG was established in 1959 at Winterthur in Switzerland. Since then, Kistler has become the global leader in dynamic measurement technology. Proximity to our customers – in terms of geography as well as time is a key factor in our company’s success. That’s why Kistler is now present on every continent with 31 Sales and Production Centers, three Tech Centers and over 30 distributors.

Customer-focused services such as calibration, repairs or regional product adaptations are provided by Kistler Tech Centers in Germany, the US and China – underpinning our guarantee that every customer will receive the best possible support. Kistler currently employs about 1,450 staff at 56 different locations across the globe. In fiscal 2015, the Kistler Group posted sales revenue of CHF 329 million. Over the last three years, average sales growth amounted to more than 10%. Some 10% of our yearly sales revenue is devoted to research and development.

Q. What about the Kistler setup in India and your contribution?

The wholly owned Indian Subsidiary of Kistler group was established in 2010. Now we have a specialized team of Sales, Support & Calibration Engineers with Head office in Faridabad and branch offices at Chennai and Pune. The Team is working very closely with the Automotive, Machine building, Defense, Top Technical Institutes & Highways Industries. In a short span Kistler India has created a customer base of approx. 200 customers. While building our Team we have taken special care to Reinforce our organization with best human skills and establish business practices which can be benchmarked with the best professional and technology norms globally. Also our Goal is to establish reliability and a track record of delivering hi tech innovative solutions economically.

Q. Could you elaborate on your work ethos?

Q. What are your comments on the prevailing business environment and how conductive is it to growth of your business?

The Government is committed to business growth and the GDP numbers are very encouraging. We expect the manufacturing sector to perform much better in the coming years. An awareness is now prevailing about boosting the R&D Infrastructure. These endeavors shall always make a positive contribution to have a Sustained Economic growth required for the business growth.
