Metso’s high pressure ball valve ready to meet modern safety & emission standards
Metso’s new Neles® XH series high pressure ball valves have been designed specifically to bring customers a safe and reliable product for multiple high-pressure applications. The new XH series is now ready to meet these requirements in higher pressure classes of ASME 900 / EN PN 160. The XH series fulfills ever-increasing customer requirements for low fugitive emissions (ISO 15848), functional safety (IEC 61508-2:2010, SIL 3) and fire safety (API 607) standards while still providing all the traditional benefits for which Neles® ball valves are recognized.
These benefits are possible thanks to Metso’s long experience in ball valve technology, including application-based seat selection, material and coating technologies, and robust bearing construction.
Low total cost of ownership
Advantages include low total cost of ownership due to less need for servicing, high production yield due to long lasting high tightness, lower energy loss due to valve high capacity, and general trouble-free operation in both shut-off and throttling applications.
These benefits are being utilized already in wide range of applications worldwide. The XH is being utilized in coal gasification processes, including solids handling, oxygen service and more, in high pressure control service in pipelines equipped with Neles® Q-Trim technology noise attenuation trim, and in demanding high-cycle applications.
Technical highlights
Reliable operations are ensured in temperatures ranging from -50 to +600°C. Body material options start from a forged carbon steel and extend to fully Ni-based high-grade alloys used in oxygen service. All wetted internals are high-grade stainless steel as standard, as in all traditional Neles® designs.
