Q. Red Lion Controls is being one of the leading players inindustrial control solutions&has established its brand in the automation industry, how did in the last few years Red Lion Control India achieved remarkable position in Indian market?
When Red Lion Controls was founded over 40 years ago, it started with sensors and evolved to counters and panel meters. Over time, driven by customer demand and available technology, we broadened our product portfolio to include HMI displays, sophisticated protocol converters, Ethernet switches and cellular M2M routers. We now provide industrial automation and networking solutions that enable customers to connect, monitor and control.

Our focus in India is on verticals that includefactory automation, power,oil and gas. By providing high-quality cost-effective products for industrial environments, we deliver reliable solutions that meet the demands of industrial customers that face the harshestof environments.

Q. Can you please brief us about international alliances &Red lion’s global infrastructure?
Red Lion is a growing company that employs over 400 people in more than 15 offices across the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. With an extensive network of over 1,000 distributors across the globe, Red Lion has international alliances with many of the world’s biggest automation companies.

Q. What are the latest initiatives Red Lion Control has undertaken in industrial automation space? Which are your focus areas?
As Red Lion’s President Mike Granby states on the better.together site, “We are currently in the middle of exciting changes, as we take steps towards bringing N-Tron and Sixnet together as part of a bigger, better Red Lion.”

With the recent acquisitions of N-Tron and Sixnet, the Red Lion portfolio is expanding to include networking and a greater variety of industrial automation products. In addition to panel meters and HMIs, we are currently merging all of our brands together to offer better, more comprehensive product offerings.
During this process, our promise to deliver reliable, high-quality products remains unchanged.

Q. What are the market opportunities for Red Lion Control products in India? How do you plan to position these products?
From a product perspective, the requirement for reliable industrial automation and networking solutions is universal. With Red Lion’s solid 40-year history and expertise in communication, monitoring and control, many of our products have been deployed in applications that range from factory and process control to extreme environments such as alternative energy, power, utilities, oil, gas, water/wastewater and transportation.

Q. In order to sustain at frontier position, what are the marketing strategies that are applied & will be applied for Indian market?
As mentioned in question 1, our marketing strategy in Indiais to focus on industrial verticals such asfactory automation, power, oil and gas. We also follow sales best practices to develop and maintain direct, channel partner and strategic alliance relationships while exploringnew market segment penetration and route-to-market strategies.

Q. Please highlight more about Red Lion Control’s top line product range? Is there any new launch or in pipeline stage?
Red Lion continually works on new product development and innovation. We haverecently launched the following products:

  • Modular N-TronN-Tron NT24k managed Gigabit Ethernet industrial switch series. With up to 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and a flexible modular format for different configuration options, the NT24k switches are designed to handle the most challenging industrial environments with high reliability and wire-speed performance.
  • ZR seriesenhanced Data Station Plus and Modular Controller. Designed to act as the key connection point for industrial data collection and management, the ZR Series offers protocol conversion, data logging and remote machine access – all at processing speeds six times faster than previous products.
  • PAX2C PID controllers, which are designed specifically for the process and temperature control markets. Applications include food & beverage, plastics, packaging, energy, gas, heat treating and glass processing.
  • N-Tron 716M12 and Sixnet SLX-5EG, SLX-3EG and SLX-3ES switches and media converters. These industrial Ethernet switches and converters provide high performance in a rugged package to meet networking requirements for industrial applications such as transportation and video surveillance.

As the global experts in communication, monitoring and control for industrial automation and networking, Red Lion has been delivering innovative solutions to customers for over forty years. In India, our focus is also on increasing our OEM market, finding new customers and discovering new applications.
