Q. HPL India is in the industry for 5 decades, what are the discerning achievements that has been made by the company in the electrical segment?
HPL Group is a company of technology and a company of character; we value and aspire to bring the Best of Technology in the country, in field of products like switchgear, electronic energy meter, lighting etc. For us quality and latest technical products has more meaning then high volumes of lower technology products. Besides this, HPL group has a vision to run on our 3D’s philosophy both as a human and as a corporate.

Q. Please brief us about company’s global reach & what are the global alliances that has been made in order to out-front the competition?
HPL has its presence overseas in South East Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. The products in HPL manufacturing facilities are supervised by its technical team and are the best in terms of technology, quality and design. Currently, HPL is on a global expansion policy to expand its business horizons and is looking for marketing alliances for its products from unexplored markets. Exporting its products to Middle East, SAARC and European Countries, HPL is increasingly focused on export-led growth through optimal utilization of its comparative technical advantage vis-à-vis competitors.

Q. What is the market potential for HPL products in India? How do you plan to position these products?
The customer has graduated and is now demanding quality and Technology . He is also much aware of what is available in the global market and is very conscious of environment and individual safety. These can be provided to the customer satisfaction, by the organized sector. Organized sector is very mature and undertakes lot of quality and design evolution to produce a technically safe & environment friendly products. Hence, the share of organized sector is far increasing according to me and is now around 70% or more of the industry. Since HPL is very conscious of the above, with in house R&D and quality production, the growth potential of HPL in Indian market is unlimited .

Competition is always healthy and gives growth to develop of new products and technology. That is what has happened in last 15 years and we believe it and will continue. Consolidation is a natural phenomena of a growing a developing market and is going to play a major role in India at least for the coming few years as newer technology are introduced and smaller players do not have the resources to develop that. Focusing on technology and quality has earned HPL products a position of reliability . HPL is popularity known as the ‘Technology Brand of India”.

Q. Is there are any alliances, HPL made recently to strengthen its position in electrical industry?
Co operation with international companies is an ongoing process and we are always open to it as we are committed to bring in the latest technology in India and to our customers.

Q. What are the distinguishing factors which makes HPL, a cutting edge over competition?
A cutting edge factor of HPL products are technology, R&D and quality. HPL evaluates all these factors while adopting new production techniques. This enhances the acceptability of products. Due to innovative technology adapted by HPL engineers, the products comprise both technology & durability. Ultra-modern manufacturing facilities ensure accuracy & reliability of the products.

Q. Please elucidate in brief about the HPL infrastructure & What are the measure that is being taken from the phase of manufacturing to distribution of the products?
The company has 69 marketing offices across the country with 1,500 authorised dealers and over 18,000 retailers. The group has manpower of more than 5,400 people. HPL has its presence overseas in South-east Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Products in HPL manufacturing facilities are supervised by its technical team and are the best in terms of technology, quality and design. This strong & effective presence gives HPL products a respectable share in the market and justifies its brand image that is ‘Technology Brand of India’.

Q. Can you brief us about HPL 3D’s philosophy which is the nectar of HPL’s success?
The 3D’s philosophy can be applied on individual or a corporate. For example, individual importance to have a sense of Duty, Discipline in life and devotion to GOD. While as a corporate , we at HPL believe duty to work, discipline to quality and devotion to the customer. Our 3D’s philosophy of Duty , Discipline & Devotion was a source of great strength of the company and helped to grow from strength to strength .

Q. Please tell as more about TAB series MCCB?
The TAB series is among the best available in the market and has the stamp of the latest technology. HPL’s switchgear R&D has developed TAB series of moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) with unique features like current limiting, reliable & precise protection against circuit abnormalities like overload, short circuit etc, line load reversibility and adjustable overload protection against changing loads to meet & exceed various application demand.

HPL MCCBs are available from 10A – 800A, in different frame sizes, with breaking capacity from 10kA–65kA, for different applications like distribution circuit, transformer, capacitor bank, motor circuit and DC circuits among others. It also offers a wide range of accessories which can even be fitted at site according to the need. The compactness in size and dimension makes the products simple to install.

Q. Is there any new products launched recently?
Yes….. HPL Group, being a giant in the Indian electrical industry, is on a major expansion programme, adding new products like Modular Switches and specialised accessories to its existing product range that is available pan-India.

Continuing with the ethos of giving the very best to its customers HPL has invested Rs 120 crores to set up two new facilities. Spread over an area of 4 lac sq.ft. these 2 state-of the-art facilities will churn out the most modern electrical equipment. One of the factories is dedicated to produce Switchgears, lighting and Luminaries. The other facility is for the expansion of Electronic Energy Meter Division. Looking to touch the Rs. 1500 crore mark over the next 3 years.

The unique features of our range includes a multi-plug with in-built 750 volt design, an arrester with remote control, a special 32 amp key tag for hotels and many others.
