The KBL-ANA MoU marks a new beginning in the relationship between India and Latin America

Starting a new leaf to India-LatAm relationship, India’s top fluid management solutions provider Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Water Authority of Peru (“ANA”). Under the terms of the MoU, the Indian company will help the Peruvian water authority in the management of water resources in Peru.

The MoU was signed at the LatAm Mine Water Conference, held at Lima on 27 & 28 August. KBL was the Premium Bronze Sponsor of the conference. Mining activities require huge amounts of water and hence managing this precious and scarce resource is of paramount importance. KBL has showcased their tried and tested proprietary-technologies that are deployed world-over to address water access and planning frameworks, integrate overall operations with these technologies so that Mining companies can increase efficiencies and ensure sustainable development.

As per the MoU, KBL and ANA will share information and experience in relation to the management, efficient use and implementation of best practices in the management of water resources in order to contribute to the overall development of these issues in Peru. The two involved parties have expressed willingness to develop capability enhancement programs for the ANA staff on management, efficient use and implementation of the best practices in the area of water management.

On the occasion, H. E. Manpreet Vohra, India’s Ambassador to Peru said: “It is really encouraging to see a strong Indian company like Kirloskar Brothers Limited entering Peru’s water management market. This will show the way to other Indian companies to come to this country, which offers so much potential. India-Peru relations have been strong and economic engagement by these companies will help the relationship further. I wish KBL the very best.”

Mr. Jayant Sapre, Executive Director of KBL, said at a panel discussion on the sidelines of the 3rd Mine Water Conference: “The MoU with ANA marks a new beginning in the India-Peru relationship.
