WorldBuild-India was inaugurated on 20th April, 2017 by eminent personalities that include Ar. Jan Gehl as Chief Guest, and Shri Prasad Lad, Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Ar. Hafeez Contractor, Mr. Ranjan Bandelkar, Ar. Pratap Jadhav, Mr. Kamal Hadker, Mr. Pradeep Nagwekar, Mr. Mukesh Mehta and Mr. Chandesh Mehta as the Guests of Honor.
It was the first ever platform which showcased contributions of one of the leading architecture and engineering firms along with Municipal Corporation of India. Apart from that, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation presented current and futuristic development plans for the respective cities. Edifice Consultants, RJBX, Malik Architecture, Kadri Consultants, Sterling Engineering, ARK, Neo Modern Architects, Premnath and Associates, Prashant Sutharia and Associates, DSP Design were among the firms which presented their contribution in the fields of architecture, design and engineering. A conference on the theme “Livable Cities” presented by Phillips, saw world renowned cities expert Jan Gehl delivering the Icon Lecture, which was followed by a keynote address by Dr. Anupama Kundoo. Debates on the themes “Towards Humane Cities” and ‘Towards Affordable Cities” were moderated by Ar. Naresh Narsimhan and Ar. Akhtar Chauhan respectively. The panel members included Ar. Ratan Batliboi, Ar. Rahul Kadri, Ar. Sameep Padora, Ar. Ravi Sarangan, Ar. Prathima Manohar, Ar. Sulakshana Mahajan, Ar. Prasanna Desai, Mr. V. Ravichandar and Claudio Maffioletti. Prof. Mustinsir Dalvi moderated the “In Conversation” session that witnessed mind boggling responses from Jan Gehl and Anupama Kundoo. The conference was attended by more than 400 professional delegates from the fields of architecture and urban planning.
On the 1st day, WorldBuild-India hosted a conclave for the members of Builders Association of India. With the presence of more than 150 builders and engineering contractors for the conclave and networking dinner, WorldBuild-India managed to provide key decision makers to its exhibitors. On the 2nd day, WorldBuild-India hosted a conference for MEP engineers and consultants in partnership with “Consulting Engineers Association of India.” The conference generated presence of 200 plus professionals and 50 odd postgraduate students.
PCERF Safety Awards and Vidyarthee Awards witnessed the presence of 250 professionals from Pune and other smaller towns of Maharashtra which ensured that WorldBuild-India was not limited to Metro cities.
Dr. Deepali Hadker curated the first ever, and one of its kind conference of structural and civil engineers on the theme “Innovations in Structural Design and Construction.” The speakers for the conference included Mr. Kamal Hadker, Dr. Vasu Noori, Mr. Umesh Joshi, Mr. Anil Hira, Mr. Alwyn Noronha, Mr. Hemant Vadalkar, Prof. B.V.S. Viswanadham, Dr. Suresh Kumar and Mr. Sandeep Shah. Mr. Girish Dravid moderated the climatic session of day. The conference received quality response with more than 400 registrations.
